Although there is no precise source, the original Kursaal was built in the late 1880s. Of neo-Moorish inspiration, it is made up of several pavilions with walls alternating lines of red brick and lighter brick (yellow, orange or white). The casino has undergone successive transformations. All that remains today is the main building, whose façade has also undergone a number of changes.
Facing the Kursaal and its park, the architect Alfred Lambert designed the layout of Avenue de la Gare, now rue du Général-de-Gaulle. A certain homogeneity emerges from the whole: an elevation with a ground floor topped by three storeys that the façades or gables, through their details or decorative elements, enliven and differentiate.
